Bokam's award winning force measurement product line consists of a solid stainless steel sensor body/diaphragm and an elaborate miniature network of conductive steel imbedded strain sensitive materials arranged in a full bridge architecture with each axis having its own bridge network. Unlike conventional strain gauge based designs these products are based on Bokam's proprietary technology that allows us to embed the strain sensitive materials onto the steel surface without the use of organic materials such as epoxies. The construction of the sensors is such that it is by its design sealed from the environment and the only surface that comes in contact with the outside works is the stainless steel surface itself.

Two and Three Axis Force Sensors

The strain sensitive materials on the back of the sensors are capable of detecting micro strains in the material surface and resolve the applied force into distinct multiple outputs proportional to the X, Y and Z component of the force vectors.

The elastic nature of the steel surface and the absence of a bond or glue line between the strain sensitive materials and stainless steel surface yield a virtually indestructible device that does not require re-calibration for the life of the OEM system after initial installation.

Several standard and custom versions are available

DX-480 Series: Two and three axis sensors with a two (2) inch outer diameter and central tapped stylus interface. These sensors range in force ranges depending on thickness. Contact  factory or your local Bokam rep for sizes, interface drawings, and load ranges

DX-46x Series: Two and three axis sensors with a 1 1/8 " outer diameter and central tapped stylus interface. These sensors are designed for lower force ranges then the DX-480 series. The load range depend on the thickness of the sensor and the length of the post used to transmit the force. Contact factory or your local Bokam rep for sizes, interface drawings, and load ranges.

Miniature Series: Various one, two, and three axis force sensors in size under ¾" OD.

Even though the sensing elements are stiff and do not contribute any deflection to the OEM system a spring element can be added to the sensors to convert motion or position information into a force measurement. In this way systems that have slight movement can still be measured and instrumented.
