Submersible Vehicle Controls

Bokam is the only company to offer a range of fully diver-rated man-machine interface products. Our submersible vehicle controls and sensors have been fully qualified and fielded in a wide range of applications within the marine and military applications or vehicles. The devices offer a wide range of products, from fully configured mice and joysticks to individual input devices and sensors that can be used as proportional and switching inputs in diver rated devices, vehicles, and installations.

Key Features and Advantages:

  • All devices are made from pin-corrosion resistive materials, are non-audible, and non-magnetic.
  • The dives come with either embedded or stand-alone electronics that provide a wide range of system interfaces and outputs, including USB, Ethernet, Analog, and CAN outputs
  • All devices are re-programmable and re-calibratable, allowing the device to change function and sensitivity in the field.
  • All devices have been tested and qualified to 6,500+ PSI of submersible pressure

Top-Tier Underwater Equipment Controls for Naval & Maritime Efforts

Bokam builds our vehicle and equipment controls to withstand long-term use in extreme situations. The ruggedness of our submersible and underwater equipment controls makes our man-machine interface products ideal for military applications. We are proud to assist the U.S. Navy and Coast Guard serve our country by providing tough, reliable, and long-lasting interfaces for their equipment.

Controls that you cannot blow-up, drown or gunk-up regardless of the environment

Construction:

  • Solid-state all-welded force proportional joystick (position proportional options available)
  • All stainless-steel construction
  • Fully submersible system with output through a submersible interface connector or gland
  • Internally potted zero-volume construction - certified to MSHA zero volume (meets reqs. for Class I Div. I environments, self-certified to Class I Div. II, comes with Class I Div. I connector)
  • Modular removable interface and grip elements that can be changed in the field if required

Advantages and Features:

  • Solid-state input devices without moving or rubbing parts provide over 1,000,000,000 cycles of operation without degradation in performance
  • Meets/exceeds Automotive EMI/RFI susceptibility requirements and MSHA certification standards
  • Increased reliability and substantially longer life capability than potentiometer and optical joysticks
  • Meets the most stringent environmental requirements including diver depth rating, drop and shock loading and temperature extremes
  • Programmable microprocessor-based electronics allow unit to be re-programmed from the outside of the unit through the external output connector, enabling complete change of sensitivity and functionality through new firmware installation
  • Potted and evacuated interior cavity with an electron beam-welded configuration provides for an explosion proof configuration
  • Externally potted cavities prevent debris gathering under the knobs
  • Modular construction allows all-welded base unit to be used with a multitude of various knobs and input devices
